The Internet Billing Company has just released these new rules regarding spamming:
"On July 12th, 2000, Internet Billing Company, Ltd began negotiations with the Mail Abuse Prevention System, LLC. The negotiations require Internet Billing Company, Ltd to adopt a specific anti-Spam policy drafted by MAPS,LLC. This policy is notnegotiable, and if it is violated, MAPS, LLC will immediately place ibill into the Real-time Black hole list.
Thus, we will be adopting the following Spam policy:
ibill shall investigate and handle Spam complaints within 24 hours of such complaints being received at abuse@ibill.com
ibill shall issue a single warning upon receipt of the first complaint of Spam.
ibill shall immediately interrupt processing upon receipt of a second complaint that indicates that the Client continued to Spam afterbeing warned.
Suspended accounts shall display an error message when an end user clicks on the "join" button.
Suspended accounts will be re-instated when the Client commits to dealing with the e-mail abuse committed by its advertisers, or rev sharers.
ibill shall suspend any revshare account upon receipt of one verified Spam complaint.
ibill shall maintain the confidentiality of all Spam complaints. If a Client is desirous of instigating litigation against a Spam complainant because theClient believes in good faith that the complainant is not truthful, ibill will release the information upon proof of the client filing a civilcomplaint for defamation against a John Doe defendant.
ibill shall create a website www.ibillabuse.com . This Web site will contain notices and bulletins about Spam,lawsuitsfiled against Spammers, and will also contain a password protected area where MAPS, LLC may enter and review complaints and responses tocomplaints.
ibill shall not release any information concerning any ibill Client accused of Spamming, but will only publish the Rev Share ID that is the subject of the complaint."
